Join Wiradjuri artist Ronda Sharpe for a weaving workshop.
Participants will be taught traditional and contemporary weaving techniques using a variety of natural fibres and reclaimed materials.
Ronda Sharpe is a Wiradjuri environmental artist who responds creatively within a First Nations cultural context, focusing on Wiradjuri traditions, community and Country. Ronda is drawn to creating contemporary fibre artworks that represent a continuum of Wiradjuri cultural artefacts, Country, language and “Yindamarra” (respect) for Mother Earth. She uses recycled data, electrical cables and natural grasses, transforming these mediums into sculptural forms that juxtapose modern and traditional weaving techniques.
Please note that there are two sessions available, each catering to different age groups. Please book your spot accordingly.
10:30 am - 12:30 pm: For ages 18 and above (adults)
