About us
The Macquarie Regional Library encompasses the local governments of Dubbo, Narromine, Warrumbungle, and Wellington. It currently serves a population of 65,643 and covers an area of 25,185 square kilometres. The library service has branches at Coolah, Coonabarabran, Dubbo, Dunedoo, Narromine, Trangie and Wellington with small service points at Baradine, Binnaway and Mendooran. The Regional Office, located in Dubbo, gives support to all the branches of the library service.
A mobile library operates in conjunction with TAFE and provides a library service to the villages of Geurie, Stuart Town and Wongarbon.
The Macquarie Regional Library provides a range of resources and services to the community. Books come in a variety of formats including large print and audio books. Other resources include music CDs, DVDs, videos and magazines. All branches of the library service have a reference collection to answer information inquiries. A housebound service operates from each branch allowing all people access to the library's collections.
Macquarie Regional Library also provides programs and events for people of all ages. All branches run regular storytime sessions for preschool children and toddlers, holiday programs for children, reading programs, internet training and regular displays.
