Narromine
The Local Studies Collection at Narromine Branch is run by a group of dedicated volunteers, the Narromine History Group. In addition to their extensive local knowledge the collection holds a wide range of valuable resources on the history and development of Narromine and the surrounds.
Narromine Shire includes the towns of Narromine and Trangie, as well as the village of Tomingley. Also included within the Shire are the early settlements of Dandaloo, Timbrebongie, McPhail, Wyanga, and Gin Gin. Narromine Municipal Council and Timbrebongie Shire Council ran alongside each other until 1980 when they amalgamated.
Macquarie Regional Library has online a collection of photographs and a timeline to assist with any research or interests your inner historian may have.
